When choose smart film for your home or office, you may have many concerns. Will my window condition suitable to install smart film? Will the quality be good? After all, you gonna use it for more than 10 years after installation, how’s the price and performance, is there any pitfalls to avoid?

1. ITO conductive layer(introduce about ITO): Prefer well-known brands, as different brands of ITO will directly affect the product’s light transmittance and haze rate.  

2. Material thickness: Thickness affects the product’s light transmission rate. The liquid crystal layer and film body determine the total thickness of the smart film. Common specifications for liquid crystal layers are 12/14/16μm. This value is not arbitrary; a film that is too thin may spark with repeated use, leaving small black spots ,' indicating burnt areas. This problem does not only affects lifespan but also increases your costs for replacement. Of course, different specifications of core materials mean different prices.

3. Light transmittance and haze rate values（introduce of haze rate): Different suppliers provide different switchable film values, and sometimes you may find you don’t have such data. In such case, it’s suggested to communicate with your supplier for more details to make sure you get what you want. Also, don’t rush your decision when selecting, as this could affect your use for the next 8-10 years, so it’s better to be cautious.  

4. Quality stability: Regarding quality stability, I’m sure this is something you pay great attention to, as it concerns long-term use. What factors can you watch for? (1) Are the samples consistent with the mass-production quality? (2) Are the samples too small to fully demonstrate the applied effect? Of course, other influencing factors also exist, as mentioned above.
